Gospel Tracts and Mini Messages

We were told back in the 70s and 80s (before the advent of cell phones and twitter machines) that the attention span of the average church attender would soon be only about three minutes. We laughed about it at the time, but today I’m wondering if the attention span of some, especially young people, is even that long.  Accordingly, in an attempt to get the message read, we have began to write shorter more compact messages; i.e., bifold Tracts (2-7/8 x 5-1/2 inches), and bifold Mini Messages (2-7/8 x 7 inches).  This first tract was actually written at the request of a truck driving friend of mine who wanted something small enough to easily carry in hand or a shirt pocket, and would have a strong gospel message as a witnessing tool for Christ. He wanted a message that would work for any and all lost souls he would come in contact with; regardless of race, color, gender, or any other classification of human beings. This tract, as it turned out, filled the bill for him in both size and message. The message title is “What Must One Do to Be Saved?” It is a powerful, informative, and most important of all, scriptural gospel tract that he dearly loves. He says people will start reading it while he is still witnessing to them about the Lord. He feels he is reaching many with scriptural facts most have never heard. We have posted the text of that particular gospel tract, along with two of the slightly longer Mini Messages, on this page; all of which are in a larger size type than is on the actual Tracts and Messages. Please take the time to read these short gospel messages; even if you can only read one per day.  Reading one or more of these short messages could make the difference in where you, or someone else whom you dearly love, spend eternity. Please tell others about our gospel web site. Thanks! JDG

A reminder! If you have already installed the Bible Study Program “theWord,” on your computer, you will  find it works wonderfully on the scripture references in these messages. If you have not, we urge you to do so. You’ll not be sorry you did. JDG

-----------------------------------------

Note 1 To simplify selecting scripture references to be opened with theWord, especially when selecting groups of references, we are in the process of highlighting all scripture references on this site in yellow (example; John 3:16-18). This makes selecting faster and easier with less chance of missing a reference or references.

---------------------------------------------

Note 2 Some complete verses already given in the text, may be shown with a hyphen between the book name and chapter instead of a space (example; John-3:16-18 in Tract 1, below). This delegitimizes that reference, and all references so tagged (as far as theWord is concerned). This prevents theWord from opening those particular verses unnecessarily.

Tract 1

WHAT MUST ONE DO TO BE SAVED?

 Tract 1 - By Jerry D. Green

To be SAVED a person MUST BE BORN AGAIN.  These are the words of Jesus (of Nazareth) who was, and forever will be, the ONLY BEGOTTEN of a fleshly body SON of GOD. We will show by the scriptures that this statement is true.

John-3:16-18  (v16) “For God so loved the world (lost mankind), that He gave His only begotten (of a fleshly body) Son (that He might bear our “old man” [our old sin nature] along with all previously committed sins [“…sins that are past…”], to death with Him on the cross [I Peter 2:24; Romans 3:25]), that whosoever believeth IN Him (and that which He did to save us) should not perish, but have everlasting life. (v17) For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved. (v18) He that believeth ON (and IN) Him is NOT condemned (there is no sentence of death on that person): but he that believeth NOT (ON and IN Him; the only begotten Son of God) is condemned already, because he (or she) hath NOT BELIEVED IN (and ON) the name of the only begotten Son of God.”

WHO IS THIS “ONLY BEGOTTEN SON OF GOD”?

One day Jesus asked His chosen disciples, “…Whom say ye that I the Son of man am? And Simon Peter answered and said, ‘Thou art THE CHRIST, the Son of the living God.’  And Jesus…said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it (this) unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven” (Matthew 16:13-17). Now, I must ask you:

WHO DO YOU SAY THAT JESUS IS?

Concerning salvation this is the single most important thing you can ever know about Jesus of Nazareth: First, He WAS, and IS, the PROMISED MESSIAH of the Old Testament (Daniel 9:25).  He also WAS and IS, THE CHRIST (of the New Testament); the One, SENT down from heaven (John 6:38-40).  He also, WAS and IS the only begotten (of a fleshly body) Son of God; and He DID accomplish everything that it was prophesied He would do when He came, including, “… make an end of sins…” which He does in the heart of all who will believe the true report of the gospel of Him (Daniel 9:24-27).

WHY IS THIS SO IMPORTANT?

John answers with Jesus’ very own words;

“…Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man (woman, boy, or girl) be BORN AGAIN (of God), he (she, or they) cannot see the kingdom of God” John 3:3.

These words, which Jesus spoke to Nicodemus, now demand another important question:

WHAT CONSTITUTES BEING BORN AGAIN?

Again, it is John who answers the question:

I John 5:1 “Whosoever BELIEVES that JESUS IS THE CHRIST IS BORN OF GOD: and everyone that loveth Him that begat (which is God the Father) loveth him also that is begotten of Him (which is firstly, Jesus CHRIST, THE SON, and by extension, all of His SPIRITUALLY born again [begotten of God] brethren [i.e., all truly born again brothers and sisters of, and in, Christ]); all the true children of God (Romans 8:29).”

John also gives a specific reason for writing the Book (or, the Gospel) of John.  In John 20:31, he writes this: “But these (things he has written) are written, that ye (you) might BELIEVE (something extremely important) that Jesus IS THE CHRIST, the Son of God; and (in) believing (these things) ye might (can) have LIFE through HIS name.”

These things of which John speaks are the things recorded in the entire Gospel (or Book) of John as well as his epistles (letters) to the churches.  If you have never read the writings of John, we earnestly urge you to do so, and begin with “The Gospel of John.” In these you will find words unto everlasting life which one must see, hear, and believe from the heart to receive from God.  It is in the seeing, hearing, and believing of these things (especially the fact that JESUS IS THE CHRIST; NT - John 4:25-26; THE MESSIAH; - OT - Daniel 9:24-27, the One SENT down from God; John 6:38-40) that we are truly born again; that we are made partakers of true salvation, that we are truly saved, which a person must be to stand before God. The importance of being in right standing with God cannot be over stated, because the alternative to “eternal LIFE” is “eternal DEATH in the lake of fire.”  But please don’t take the words of this writer for anything as important as this. Read the Words of God for yourself.

Revelation-20:11-15; (v11) “And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.  (v12) And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books (of WORKS) were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life, and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to THEIR WORKS.  (v13) And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead that were in them: and they were judged every man according to THEIR WORKS.  (v14) And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the SECOND DEATH.  (v15) And whosoever was NOT found written in the BOOK of LIFE WAS CAST INTO THE LAKE of FIRE.”

What more can we say?, other than the fact that a great and mighty salvation awaits all who will repent (change their wrong thinking about Jesus, the Christ of God) and believe a true report of the gospel of Him. So call on Him today; the one who loved us enough to suffer at the hands of cruel and wicked men, even unto death on a cross; that we all (all mankind) could have an opportunity to be saved.  Outside of Jesus, the true Christ of God, there is absolutely no other way for anyone to ever be saved (John 14:6). And, lest we forget, eternity in the lake of fire awaits all who “neglect so great a salvation” as Jesus has purchased for us “by His own blood” (Hebrews 2:3; 9:12). The apostle Paul declares in Romans 1:16, “…I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for IT is the power of God unto salvation unto everyone that believeth…” (IT).  This gospel of which the apostle Paul speaks is the same gospel that, in the words of Jesus, would make the BELIEVER thereof “free indeed” from sin (John 8:30-36). Our prayer today is that you will be drawn by God the Father to seek this great and wonderful salvation of which we write in this little tract (John 6:44). For those who desire to know more about the true, soul saving gospel of Christ, we recommend the gospel web sites below. Like this little tract, these web sites are totally dedicated to proclaiming “the true gospel of Jesus Christ” to all; without fear, favor, or cost to any. If you do not already know Jesus as your Lord and Savior our hope and prayer is that you WILL come to know Him very soon; because His coming is very near.  His coming will be preceded by approximately three and a half years of extremely perilous times, in which you do not want to be found on this earth without Him (Daniel 12:6-12; Matthew 24:3-22). The cost of NOT knowing Him and His great salvation, at any time is incomprehensible.  May the truly great God and Father of the Lord Jesus Christ draw you to seek, find, and believe the great salvation He has for you through, and only through, the true gospel of His dear Son.  Do not delay in seeking the indescribable rest and peace God has for your heart and soul in believing the true gospel of Jesus, the Christ and Son of God.

Mini Message 1

Repent and Believe the Gospel

Mini Message 1 - By Jerry D. Green

What comes to mind when you hear the word “repent?”  The most likely answer a person would receive, if the question were asked, is “being sorry for sins one has committed.” This is not, however, exactly what is meant when the words repent, or repentance, are used in the scriptures. Being sorry for one’s sins, alone, has never saved anyone; and never will.  It can, however, bring a person to seek an answer for their sin; which is a first step toward salvation (II Cor 7:8-12).

Sin, which is actually the nature of Satan,  is an inherent problem which all mankind  is born with; because of the disobedience of the “one man,Adam (Rom 5:12). This sin nature is what separates fallen mankind from God and can only be resolved by the elimination of the problem. Man, however, can never do this on his own, because it is a spiritual heart problem; which can only be resolved by God Himself. Therefore, we must put our faith in Him and His provision. Only then can He move to remedy our problem. His provision was accomplished for us, by and through, the giving of His Son Jesus to the death of a cross.  It is because of the things which God did for us by, and through, His Son (i.e., His shed blood, His death, His burial, resurrection, and ascension) that we can have access to God. The overall account of these things which took place are commonly called “the gospel of Christ,” and are the only way to God (Mk 1:1; John 14:6).

Outside of hearing and believing “the true gospel of Christ,” there is absolutely no other way for a person to be saved. You should be warned however, that it must be a pure, true, “rightly divided” account of the “gospel of Christ”  (II Tim 2:15).  Multitudes of false prophets lie at the door waiting to deceive and fleece the simple of the flock of God, for their own personal gain and other fleshly lust (Matt 7:15).  Only those who sincerely love the truth will ever be able to negotiate the maze of these false prophets and teachers with their false messages; to find the true “treasure hidden in the field” Matt 13:44. Nothing short of our absolute faith in the pure, true, “gospel of Jesus Christ” can provide for us that which God requires; a new, pure, clean, sinless heart.” We “must be born again” of a “new heart” and a “new spirit” (the Spirit of Christ, and filled with the Spirit of God (Ezk 36:26-27; Rom 8; I John 5:1).

But, to the primary subject of the message, we must briefly examine the definition of the Greek words translated “repent” and “repentance;” as  used in the scriptures. It is important we understand these. The Greek word translated repent is #3340 in Strong’s Greek Dictionary, and means: To think differently, or afterwards, i.e. reconsider (morally, to feel compunction):

The Greek word translated repentance is Strong’s #3341 and means compunction (for guilt, including reformation); by implication, reversal (of [another’s] decision). The definition of the English word compunction (according to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary): “Implies a painful sting of conscience especially for contemplated wrongdoing;” something  seldom seen in today’s worldly churches.  Based then on these findings, a summary of repent and repentance would simply be to reconsider something; to think differently about something; to reverse a past (wrong) decision; etc.  In light of these finding, we continue.

Almost 500 years before the birth of Jesus, the angel Gabriel told the prophet Daniel the exact year that Messiah (Old Testament; Hebrew), or Christ (New Testament; Greek), would come. And, according to the scriptures, all Israel at that time were expecting His coming. Many believed John (the Baptist) was “the Christ” (the promised “Messiah”); but John affirmed he was not (John 1:20).

In order to fulfill the law of Moses (which was still in effect at the time [but for us is “done away in Christ;” II Cor 3:14]),  Jesus, “that all righteousness might be fulfilled; (Matt 3:13-17) came to John the Baptist to be baptized in water.  Immediately after this, God came down and baptized Jesus with His Holy Spirit; which then led Him into a time of testing which He passed in every point (Luke 4:1; Matt 4:1). We should emphasize the fact that under the New Covenant, water baptism, circumcision, or any other ordinance or tradition of man is in no way a prerequisite for receiving salvation, the baptism of the Holy Ghost, or anything else from God (Gal 6:15; Acts 10).

Soon, Jesus began to preach, teach, and perform great miracles; after which He returned to His hometown of Nazareth where,  after reading Isa 61:1-3 (a prophecy of the Messiah [the Christ]) He was harshly received by the local synagogue (i.e., they would have killed Him); but “passing through the midst of them, He went His way” (Luke 4:17-30).

This was the first persecution and rejection of Jesus (the Christ) by Jewish Israel; but it would not be the last.  The Jewish rulers would not stop their persecution of Him until they had succeeded in His death.  Sadly, the Jewish people have suffered horrendously for this wrong decision.  For almost 2000 years since, the Jewish people have suffered persecutions of every possible description.  From the siege of Jerusalem in 70 AD, to the centuries of being scattered throughout the nations (Psa 60:1), to the more recent holocaust of the past century; they have been displaced and scattered, without a nation of their own until 1948.  Since then they have suffered almost constant war; perhaps one or more every decade.  But until there is a repenting unto repentance, this suffering will only continue and worsen. They must reconsider what they have been taught about Jesus, the Christ.  They must begin to think differently about Him.  There must be a reversal of the terrible decision their forefathers made so many hundreds of years ago. Only then, will they repent of the great sin of their fathers and look favorably unto, and call upon, Him whom their fathers rejected and pierced and their children for all time since have condoned (Psa 49:11). When this repentance takes place, and it will, there will be great mourning in the land of Israel for their deliverer, and for their past rejection of Him (Zech 12; Zech 13; Zech 14; Joel 1; Joel 2; Joel 3; Dan 12; Rev 9).

A great struggle of conscience between the things the Jew has been taught about Jesus, and the truth according to the holy scriptures of God, will take place before this repentance comes.  Nevertheless, this struggle will take place and repentance will come before Jesus returns (Matt 24:29-31). The Jewish people will begin to think differently about Him.  There will be a reversal of their thinking concerning the horrible decisions their forefathers made so many hundreds of years before (i.e., their rejection of Jesus as the Christ).  Again, this repentance WILL come; but NOT until the Jewish people have first endured one last (approximately) 3½ years of a “…time of trouble…” such as never was since there was a nation, until that time…, nor ever shall be” again (Dan 12:1; Joel 2:2; Matt 24:21; Mrk 13:19-27).  This time of trouble will not end until two thirds of the Israeli population (approximately 5.5 million) “…in all the land (of Israel) shall be cut off and die…” (Zech 13:8-9. The total population of Israel at the May 2016 census was approximately 8.25 million).

Nevertheless, this is the plight of the Israeli people; but what about the rest of the world. To them God says in Isa 28:22; “Now therefore be ye not mockers, lest your bands be made strong: for I have heard from the Lord GOD of hosts a consumption (a destruction), even determined upon the whole earth.” And, Jer 25:29; “…lo, I begin to bring evil on the city (of Jerusalem) which is called by my name, and should ye be utterly unpunished? Ye shall NOT be unpunished: for I will call for a sword upon all the inhabitants of the earth, saith the LORD of hosts.”

Simultaneously, circumstances similar to those going on in Israel will also be taking place worldwide. This will include the struggle with radical Islam, as well as the struggle of conscience over the issue of “the Christ; both of which the Jews will also be struggling. But, whether Jew or Gentile, the answer is the same for all.  Repent and believe the gospel of Christ; or perish eternally.

Rev 9:12-16  v12 “One woe is past; and, behold, there come two woes more hereafter. v13 And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden alter which is before God,  v14   Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates. v15 And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the THIRD part of men.  v16 And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand, thousand (200 million): and I (John) heard the number of them.”  (These are the locust army of God, [i.e., Islamist terrorist] Joel 2; 3).

This earth will soon become a giant ball of death and destruction and there is only one safe place for both Jews and Gentiles (all other peoples) for now and forever.  “Now is the day of salvation” (II Cor 6:2).  To be saved, “…your life (must) be hid with Christ in God” (Col 3:3); which is, “the secret place of the most High” (Psalm 91).

How does one get into God’s secret place; which is IN Christ?  We must believe in God and His provision.  For “…of him (God) are ye IN Christ Jesus, who of God is made  unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption (I Cor 1:30).”  Therefore, repent with compunction.  Reconsider what you think about Jesus, the Christ of God. Reverse your thinking concerning your forefathers RELIGION; whosoever, whatsoever and wheresoever they, or it, may be. Whether Jew, Gentile, atheist, or just plain lost. Change your thinking about the wrong decisions your forefathers made whether long, or not so long, ago.  Let your thinking be realigned with the truth of the Holy Scriptures (God’s word); then believe the true gospel of Jesus Christ and be saved.

Mini Message 2

The Nature of the Serpent

Mini Message 2 - By Jerry D. Green

Has anyone ever talked to you about your need to be saved?  Did you, or they, leave with you still wondering what the real difference between being lost and being saved was.  If this is your case, there is little wonder that you did. There are few people today who actually know why a person needs to be saved.  But if a person doesn’t know they are lost, and the horrible consequences of being so, how can they possibly know they need to be saved. The answer to this question should be taught from the pulpits of every church on the planet; but, many pastors do not themselves, know the answer.  Thus, “the blind lead the blind, and all fall into the ditch” (Luke 6:39).  This message is an attempt to reveal the difference between being lost and being saved; and what a lost person must do to be saved.

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” and all that was therein; and “God saw that it was good.” He planted a garden east of Eden, where He placed His newly created man and woman; along with every plant that was good for food.  He also placed two unique trees “in the midst of the garden, …the tree of life… and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil;” the latter of which they were strictly forbidden to eat the fruit thereof (Gen 1:1, 27; 2:7-8, 25; 3:1-24). There was only one way out of that wonderful garden, but, because of the deceptive lie planted by “the dragon, that old serpent, which is the devil and Satan,” Adam and Eve did find the way out (Gen 3:1-5; John 8:44; Rev 20:2). But regrettably, for both them and for us, they also found themselves with a different spirit and a different nature than they had had before. Instead, they now found themselves with the nature of the serpent (a fallen, rebellious, sinful nature); which, until this very day is the case of lost mankind. Every human being ever born on this earth, excepting Jesus, the Christ (who was physically born of the virgin Mary, by God [i.e., by the Holy Ghost] Matt 1:18-25), inherit the same fallen sinful nature that Adam and Eve received in their fall. In this, they (Adam and Eve) became “the foundation (stock; i.e., ancestors) of THE (entire, fallen) WORLD.  Their every descendant was (and yet is) inherently born with the same fallen nature as Satan himself.  What does all this mean?  It means that the flesh (not the physical body, but), the fallen spirit (or nature, of fallen man) produces fallen, sinful works. Gal 5:19-21 will tell us about these: v19 “Now the works of the flesh (the fallen, sinful, nature of man) are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, v20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, v21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and (all) such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things SHALL NOT inherit the kingdom of God.” If any of these are working in you, you need to be saved, “now” (today). Jesus is coming soon (II Cor 6:2; Lk 12:40).

Irrespective of what many teach today regarding Rev 4:1, the things which John saw are not things that will only happen after Jesus returns.  They are in fact, things that “must be hereafter” from the time John saw them until the end of the thousand year reign of Jesus, the Christ, on this earth; and beyond. With the passing of time and the worldwide increase in population and knowledge, man’s ability to wage war, etc., has also increased in both magnitude and frequency (all of which are the result of the entrance of sin Rom 5:12); and will continue to do so.  It is at the climax of this great “time of trouble” prophesied by Jesus and many of the OT prophets; and described metaphorically in the book of Revelation, that Jesus, the “Prince of Peace” (Isa 9:6)  will return with His “rod of iron” (symbolic of a chastening rod that will not break, bend, or wear out until the desired result is accomplished in rebellious, unbelieving, people and nations [Psa 2; Rev 2:27; 12:5; 19:15; Isa 65:25; Zech 14:17]); to bring an end to war and it’s weapons that fill and “destroy the earth” (Isa 2:4; Mic 4:3; Rev 11:18), for the thousand years that follow (Isa 22:5; Luke 21:25; Matt 24:29-31; Mrk 13:24-27; Rev 20:7-9).

This erroneous teaching of Rev 4:1 is just one more deception of Satan, by and through his ministers (II Cor 11:3, 14-15), to keep you from seeing your urgent need to be saved; before it’s too late. That you might dwell eternally with God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ, along with all the saints of God; of and for all time (John 14:6, 20; Col 3:3). NO sin, and NO sinners will ever enter the heaven of God; Rev 21:7-8, 27.

For all who inherit the kingdom of God by new birth (John 20:31; I John 5:1), there is good news. Please read Gal 5:13-26 in your bible. These scripture verses tell us much more about this subject.  Gal 5:16-18;  v16 “This I say then, Walk in the Spirit (of Christ, and of God), and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.  v17 For the flesh (the fallen, sinful, nature of mankind) lusteth against (opposes) the Spirit (of Christ), and (likewise) the Spirit (of Christ is against; opposes) the flesh (which is of the spirit of Satan [the serpent]): and these are contrary the one to the other: so that … (you) cannot do the things … (you) would (have done before salvation; Rom 7; 8).  v18 But if  (you) be led of the Spirit (of Christ), ye are not under the law.”  Gal 5:22-25; v22 “… (For) the fruit of the Spirit (of Christ) is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, v23 Meekness, (and) temperance: against such (as these) there is no law.  v24  And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lust (thereof). (Rom 6:6. v25) (Therefore) If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.”

Oh!, that every person on this planet were “born again” and walking in, and after, the Spirit of Christ, and of God; but they are not. If they were, Rev 6 would read very differently. Unfortunately that is not the case; so as briefly as possible we will examine the four riders (of the four horses) of Rev 6.

These four horsemen depict the direct results of Adams transgression and the entrance of sin (the nature of Satan, the serpent) which came upon the entire human race because of Adam’s disobedience.  Rom 5:12  “Wherefore, as by one man (Adam) sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have (sin, the nature, and therefore have) sinned (committed sins, because of the fallen sin nature which they inherited).  Lost people are not sinners because they have committed sins; but they sin (commit sins) because they are born sinners (born with a heart to sin):”

Rev-6:2  “And I saw, and behold a WHITE HORSE: and he that sat on him had a bow; (This was Adam as he was created; before the entrance of sin; and this bow is not a weapon, but a covenant bow (a rainbow) and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer” (i.e., having dominion; Psalm 8:4-9).

Rev-6:4And there went out another HORSE that was RED: and power was given to him that sat thereon (which is sin; Rom 5:12) to take peace from the earth, …that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword” (symbolic of war and murder; Matt 15:17-20; I Jn 3:15).

Rev-6:5  “And  when  he  had  opened  the third  seal,  I  heard  the  third  beast  say Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a BLACK HORSE; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand” (a weighing device; symbolic of the judgment of the whole world; Dan 5:26-30).

Rev-6:7-8  v7 “And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see.  v8 And I looked, and behold a PALE HORSE: and his name that sat on him was Death (the wages of sin; Rom 6:23), and Hell (Strong’s #1067, a place of everlasting punishment) followed with him.  And power was given unto them (these four riders) over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.”

The world has now experienced about 6,000 years of the effects of these four riders, and today we stand on the very brink of their climax before the return of Jesus.  Only those of a pure, clean, heart can stand before Him.  Are you ready (Matt 24:44)?

There is yet one more horseman to ride. Another man on another white horse; one of incontestable eminence. This will be the most notable ride of any man who ever lived on this earth.  Although His ride is given medaphorically, all will be accomplished that is written. Unlike Adam (the rider of the first white horse) this man (Jesus, the Christ of God), as He did the first time He was sent (John 3:14-19; John 5:24), will not fail in that which He is sent to do this second time; rule the nations of this earth with a rod of iron for a thousand years and beyond (I Cor 15:24-28; Rev 11:15; 12:5; 19:15; 20:13-15).

Rev-19:11-16  v11 “And I saw heaven opened, and behold a WHITE HORSE; and HE that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness HE doth judge and make war.  v12 HIS eyes were as a flame of fire, and on HIS head were many crowns; and HE had a name written, that no man knew, but HE HIMSELF.  v13 And HE was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and HIS name is called The Word of God (John 1:1).  v14 And the armies which were in heaven followed HIM upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.   v15 And out of HIS mouth goeth a sharp sword (the Word of God; Eph 6:17), that with IT HE should smite the nations: and HE shall rule them with a rod of iron: and HE treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.  v16 And HE hath on HIS vesture and on HIS thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.”

Are you prepared to stand before THE RIDER of this last WHITE HORSE (Luke 12:40])?

Mini Message 2 - By Jerry D. Green

------------------------------------------------------------------

Have you ever considered a tract ministry?

All of the above messages are in print as bifold tracts or mini messages. If you have ever considered starting a tract ministry, please read this article.)

Matthew 9:37-38  v37 Then saith he (Jesus) unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;  v38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.

For anyone who has ever considered a tract ministry, there has never been a better time to start. As end-time prophecies continue to unfold in real-time; we believe people will, as never before, begin searching for an answer to the things that are “coming upon the earth” (Luke 21:26; Matt 24:29-30). Most lost people, including lost religious people should be ready to welcome anyone who has an honest answer for their problems. They should be glad to hear your testimony and/or receive a small tract; small in size and short in words, but long in truth.

If you have read one or more of the three above messages, and feel led of the Lord to start a tract ministry of your own; please pray earnestly about doing so.  If, after you have prayed, you still feel led to start one, we would like to help with one or  all of the above messages. If you already have your own copying and printing equipment, or, have convenient access to commercial copying and printing; we will, at your request send you, without charge, a pre-edited layout of all (3) of these bifold messages. With these, you can make as many copies of each tract or mini message as you need; as you need them. A truck driving brother and friend of mine has a very fruitful ministry handing out tracts and witnessing for the Lord (combined with his witness, he’s handed out hundreds of the tract titled “What Must One Do to Be Saved”). There are not a great number of people who can actually give a true, scriptural, answer to this question.

These three messages, though intentionally brief, reveal true scriptural answers to those who are searching for truth, life and peace; and that eternal.  If you think this is something you would like to try, please begin your ministry with these 3 message titles. These are messages the lost world needs to hear, read, and know about. To contact us about receiving these pre-edited layouts, go to Contact and Links on the navigation bar (top left side of the page).  Or, you may copy and paste our website address, jdg@thetruegospelwebsite.org, directly into your web browser.  Either way, please be sure to include your full name and complete mailing address. Thanks so much for considering this offer. We’re looking forward to hearing from you. JDG

Please Note!

If you do not already have an electronic bible study program on your computer that will open scripture references on other programs beside itself, please checkout the new, FREE, TheWord program we recently discovered on the internet.  For additional information, go to our “Notes, News, and Announcements” page, by way of the navigation bar; or, go directly to their website from here. Just copy and paste their address http://www.theword.net/, into your web browser, or go to our “Contact and Links” page, via the navigation bar, for a hot link. The program is totally free and we believe you will be as happy as we were to have found it.  It works great on all legitimately tagged scripture references, including (if we may) these on the true gospel web site.  JDG

JDG’s Bible Dictionary

JDG’s word for today is WORLD; but how would one define WORLD as used in the scriptures?  The world is comprised of all those who are yet of the spiritual kingdom of Satan by natural birth (that is to say, all mankind before salvation).

Jesus Teaches His Disciples, saying:

John 15:19  If ye (the truly born again children of God; I John 5:1) were of the world, the world would love (you; Strong’s #5368; would love) his own: but because ye are not of the world, but (or, because) I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

Jesus Prays to the Father, saying:

John 17:14-16

v14  I have given them (those who closely follow Him) THY WORD; and the world hath hated them, because they are NOT of the world, even as I am NOT of the world.

v15  I pray not that thou shouldest take them OUT of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil (“of this present evil world” Galatians 1:4).

v16  They (these) are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

Galatians 1:3-4

v3  Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ,

v4 Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us FROM this PRESENT EVIL WORLD, according to the will of God…our Father:

Galatians 6:14

v14  But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by (which and by) whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.

Things too horrible to comprehend will soon befall THE WORLD, but thanks be to God, His children are NOT OF THE WORLD; therefore, they are NOT appointed to the wrath of God.

Some teach that anger is sin.  This is not necessarily so.  Anger is an emotion, and just as with any other emotion, it can be misused.  Anger is only sin when it stems from unrighteousness.  Anger stemming from righteousness is not sin; and we can know that anger which stems from God will always be righteous anger.

Revelation 15:1

v1  And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvelous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God.

I Thessalonians 5:9-10

v9  For (because) God hath Not appointed US to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,

v10  Who died for us, that, whether we wake (are physically alive) or sleep (are physically dead at His coming), we should live together with him.

Be sure, therefore, you are NOT of THE WORLD?

John 3:17-20

v17  For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

v18  He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

v19  And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

v20  For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

Adam and Eve, being created, were the only humans (except for Jesus) who were not born into Satan’s kingdom as sinners. In their deception, they (Adam and Eve) sold themselves, and in turn all their progeny (that’s me, you, and all the rest of mankind) to Satan, thus receiving his spirit and becoming part of his kingdom, which is the WORLD. Because of this, all of the natural kingdoms (all the nations engendered and established by fallen mankind) including these wonderful United States of America and their governmental systems, also legally belong to and are manipulated by Satan; through the fallen WORLD.  This is so evident in the world today.  But how can we know this by the scriptures?

The Testing of Jesus

Luke 4:5-8

v5  And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time (Revelation 16:13-16).

v6  And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is (they are) delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.

v7  If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.

v8  And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

In their transgression, Adam and Eve became the foundation of the WORLD (fallen mankind).  Let me make this clear as I can.  The foundation of the EARTH, and the foundation of the WORLD are two distinctly different things. The Greek word (Strong’s #1093) translated EARTH in Hebrews 1:10 pertains to the planet.  It is an entirely different Greek word than the Greek word most often translated WORLD (Strong’s #2889, which can also pertain to the earth, but always includes its inhabitants).

Nevertheless, John 3:14-16 says, (v14) “…as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness (Numbers 21:8-9) even SO (Strong’s #3779, meaning in this way: referring to what  precedes or follows [in this case it is referring to what precedes; in the same way that Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness on a pole]) must the Son of man be lifted up:” (v15) That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. (v16) For God SO (Strong’s #3779, in this way) loved the WORLD (fallen mankind), that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Though the giving of His Son Jesus the Christ at Calvary, God made provision for our “translation” FROM the kingdom of darkness (THE WORLD), INTO another kingdom; “…the kingdom of His dear Son (Jesus, the Christ; who IS also the kingdom of God; the kingdom of heaven; the kingdom of light): In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness (freedom) of sins:” (Colossians 1:13-14).  In believing the true report of the gospel of Christ (which is The Faith) we are spiritually born anew (born [again] of God; John 3:5-7; I John 5:1).  God delivers “…us from the power of (Satan’s spiritual kingdom of) darkness (the world), and… (“translates”) …us INTO the (spiritual) kingdom of his dear Son: (Jesus Christ; the kingdom of light; John 1:4-5; I John 5:11; Colossians 1:12-14): which is a totally new and different kingdom.  This is what Jesus was speaking of when He said to those who faithfully followed Him. “If ye were of the WORLD, the WORLD would love (you, because the WORLD loves) his own: but… ye are NOT of the WORLD, … (because) I have chosen you out of the WORLD, therefore the WORLD hateth you” (John-15:19).  Just before going to the cross, Jesus prayed to the Father for all those who had (or ever would) faithfully believe in and follow Him, saying, “I have given them thy word; and (and because of this) the WORLD hath hated them, because they are NOT of the WORLD, even as I am NOT of the WORLD. I pray NOT that thou shouldest take them OUT of the WORLD, but that thou shouldest keep them from the EVIL (which is IN and OF the WORLD; Galatians 1:4).  They are NOT OF the WORLD, even as I am NOT OF the WORLD.  Sanctify them through thy truth (Jesus is speaking here of Himself, the Christ, and that which He will shortly accomplish at Calvary; which comprises “…the gospel of Christ…”): thy word (which is also Jesus, the Christ) IS truth.  As thou hast sent me into the WORLD, even so have I also sent them into the WORLD.  And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth (i.e., through believing that I AM the Christ, and that which I will accomplish on the cross of Calvary).  Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through THEIR word (that’s us); That they all may be one (in us); as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one IN US (Colossians 3:1-3): that the WORLD may (see us in them and) believe that thou hast sent me” (John 17:14-21). “Think not that I am come to send (bring) peace on EARTH (the planet; Strong’s #1093): I came NOT to… (bring) …peace, but a sword (which connotes division).  I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household” (Matthew 10:34-36).

What is Jesus saying in all this? Even though they may be of the same household, one is yet of the WORLD (the spiritual kingdom of Satan; the kingdom of darkness) while the other, being born anew through believing that “Jesus is the Christ” (I John 5:1), the one sent of the Father; and believing a true report of the “gospel of Christ” (Romans 1:16). This is the other that has been translated into the spiritual kingdom of light (the spiritual kingdom of God, which for us is being spiritually born again INTO and abiding IN CHRIST, (Colossians 1:12-13).  Dear brothers and sisters, we MUST love, pray for, and be a light unto the lost souls of “…the WORLD…” with which we have contact; but there MUST be NO desire in our hearts for the THINGS OF “…the WORLD…” (Galatians 1:4).  The apostle John says it this way. “LOVE NOT the WORLD (A truly born again Christian will not be drawn to fellowship with those who are OF the WORLD and its spirit.), neither the THINGS that are IN the WORLD (all those things which are so attractive to the human nature within us).  If any man LOVE the WORLD, the LOVE of the FATHER is NOT in him. For (because) ALL that is IN the WORLD (ALL THOSE THINGS so desired and sought after because of our human nature; i.e.), the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is NOT OF the FATHER, but is OF the WORLD.  And the WORLD passeth away, AND the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of GOD (the FATHER) abideth for ever” (I John 2:15-17). EVER LEARNING

November 3, 2011

As I type an entry into my internet search program and click, I am always amazed at the vastness of the information that is so quickly and easily made available to me. Even when narrowed down to that which is purported to be the gospel of Jesus Christ, the amount of the information is mind-boggling. It is beyond anything the average mind could ever ingest and/or digest in a life time; and this concerns me. This was one of the things the apostle Paul was prophetically warning of when he was writing to the young man, Timothy. (Please notice some of the things in the scriptures below which I have UPPERCASED and UNDERLINED, but VERSE SEVEN in particular.)

II Timothy 3:1-9 KJV

v1. This know also, that in the last days PERILOUS TIMES shall come (Could this be referring to a particular time of trouble, Daniel 12:1; tribulation, Matthew 24:21: affliction, Mark 13:19; or perplexity, Luke 21:25-27; I believe that it is.)

v2. For men shall be lovers of their own selves (selfish), covetous (avaricious), boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents (both natural and spiritual), unthankful, unholy,

v3. Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

v4. Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures MORE than lovers of God;

v5. Having A FORM OF GODLINESS, but DENEYING THE POWER THEREOF (to SAVE FROM SIN; Matthew 1:21): FROM SUCH TURN AWAY.

v6. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers (many, and/or various) lusts,

v7. EVER LEARNING (Daniel 12:4; but), …NEVER ABLE TO COME to the KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRUTH (Paul is writing about concerning, not only the world, but the church? We expect to see these things in the unregenerate world, but they should never be seen in the church. It is very plain, however, that he is speaking to the church).

v8. Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do THESE (MEN and/or WOMEN; unto this day) also RESIST THE TRUTH: MEN (and/or WOMEN) of corrupt minds, (and) reprobate concerning the faith (which is the true gospel of Jesus Christ).

v9. But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be (made) manifest unto all men, as theirs (Jannes and Jambres) also was (How could this be? How about, “I never knew you” when they stand before the Great and Righteous Judge; or, “they don’t fly” at the catching away of the saints.).

How can it be that so simple a gospel, can be so hard to understand? It is because the “god of this WORLD” (that is, the devil) has blinded the mind of the reader and/or hearer thereof; and even though they are “ever learning, they are “never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. Consequently, they cannot see, nor hear, and therefore, cannot believe the true gospel of Jesus, the Son and Christ of God that makes the believer thereof free indeed from sin (John 8:30-36, II Corinthians 4:3-4; ). What Are You Preaching and Teaching?

Mark 16:15  “And he (Jesus) said unto them, ‘Go ye into all the world, and PREACH THE GOSPEL to every creature’.”

Did you know that you can preach and teach from the “Bible” (the “Word of God”) for an entire lifetime and never PREACH or TEACH THE GOSPEL that makes free from sin? It can be narrowed down even closer than that. A person can preach and teach from the NEW TESTAMENT for an entire lifetime and never PREACH THE TRUE GOSPEL. A person can preach ABOUT JESUS CHRIST for an entire lifetime and never PREACH THE TRUE GOSPEL; THE TRUE GOSPEL of CHRIST, which is also THE TRUE GOSPEL of GOD (are one and the same). So, how can we make such a statement? Because we can see and hear it done, every day that we live.

What exactly then is THE GOSPEL?  Most everyone can tell you it’s “good news,” but very few can tell you what the good news actually is, or does. Far too many believe it to be any and everything the carnal (fleshly heart and mind) of man can desire, but that is not the case. First and foremost, it is a message of FREEDOM: FREEDOM FROM sin, and FREEDOM FROM religious law and laws (of Moses) and of all men, by the broken body and shed blood of Jesus, the Christ, on that cruel cross of Calvary. THE GOSPEL OF JESUS, the CHRIST is a message of “…LIFE, and that MORE ABUNDANTLY…” than the carnal heart and mind of man could ever imagine (I Corinthians 2:9). In short, it is the POWER of GOD unto SALVATION to every man, woman, and child on the face of this planet who are fortunate enough to HEAR, BELIEVE, and SUBMIT themselves UNTO IT. This is the reason it is so desperately important for the true gospel of Jesus Christ to be preached in, and to, all the WORLD; because it is absolutely impossible for anyone to ever be saved, outside of hearing, believing, and submitting themselves unto the true gospel of Jesus, the Christ (I must interject the word true, because there are so many “…other…” so called, but “…perverted…”, Christian gospels in the world, that only those who honestly love and desire the truth will ever find, know, and believe (IT; Galatians 1:6-12; Matthew 7:14]).  This is the sole purpose of “The True Gospel Web Site;” to proclaim “The TRUE Gospel of Christ,” the Savior of the world, to every creature (i.e., every soul) on this planet that can possibly be reached with the true gospel of Christ; but we cannot do it alone. We must have your help. Therefore we are calling for every TRUE man and woman of God to be bold and stand with us in the preaching and teaching of Jesus Christ and the TRUE Gospel of Him. A person can suffer persecution for preaching and teaching many things, but it is only the persecution suffered for the preaching of the TRUTH, which is in Jesus Christ and the true gospel of Him, that God will honor and bless (I Peter 4:14). Why is this the case? It is because the true gospel is the only message that will ever save a soul FROM sin; and being saved FROM sin is what constitutes SALVATION. Therefore the devil has no quarrel with, or any objection to, any religious doctrine, whether it’s one of the countless non-Christian religions of the world, or, one of the multitudes of perverted Christian religions; because none of these can produce salvation from the sin problem of fallen man.

Jesus said one day to a group of Jew’s, as well as to every offender since: “…Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer (allow; or permit) ye them that… (would) to go in” (Matthew 23:13). In other words, the scribes and Pharisees chose to WILLFULLY AND PERVERSELY DISBELIEVE the GOOD NEWS that CHRIST, the kingdom of God, had come (John 3:36; Strong’s #544). They chose to be willingly ignorant concerning that which was preached unto them, and in so doing, they stood in the way of those who would believe by holding them in bondage through fear and ignorance, deliberately keeping them in darkness concerning the truth. These Jews, Jesus called fools and hypocrites. He also called them, “…BLIND GUIDES, … (who) strain (screen or filter to remove) …a gnat (something small and insignificant), and (proceed to) swallow a camel” (a religious message of death; Matthew 23:24).

In another discourse in which He had offended some scribes, and perhaps some of these same Pharisaic Jews (Matthew 15:11-14), Jesus said, “…Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath NOT planted, shall be rooted up. Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.”  Men and women of God, brothers and sisters in Christ, don’t fall into the trap of preaching and/or teaching anything less than the true gospel of Christ, that you may stay in favor with the world. I’m speaking of the multitudes who call themselves Christians, and are not. At some point, we will all stand before God and answer to Him for that which we have preached and taught.

I know that some will say, I just can’t believe we could ever be made free from sin as long we live in this body; that certainly hasn’t been my experience. If this is your case, I must tell you that you arrived at that conclusion either, through  ignorance of the truth, because of your own, or, someone else’s carnal reasoning and/or experience This is certainly not what the rightly divided scriptures teach. And to that I can only say, we’re not commissioned to believe, preach, or teach OUR REASONING and/or EXPERIENCE, but the TRUE GOSPEL of Jesus Christ; which is revealed to us in the “Word of God,” by the Holy Ghost. The Word of God says, “Knowing this, that OUR old man IS crucified with Him (Jesus Christ), that the body (NOT OUR physical body; but the whole) of sin…be destroyed (rendered entirely idle or useless; stilled; Strong’s #2673), that henceforth we might NOT (would NOT; could NOT; can NOT) serve SIN” (Romans 6:6; I John 3:9). And again, the Apostle Paul explains it this way, “I am crucified with Christ:…” (This is just as true for us today as it was for him, when he wrote those words. Therefore all believers can say, and believe, as did the apostle Paul) “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet (its) not I (that lives), but (it is) Christ (who now) liveth (lives) in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh (flesh, in this place, is speaking of the natural, physical, mortal body) I live by THE faith (THE TRUE GOSPEL OF JESUS, THE CHRIST) …the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me” (Galatians 2:20). I would say to every person, who’s experience doesn’t agree with the Word of God, to preach, teach, and BELIEVE the Word of God, NOT your experience. Until you do, your experience will never change, no matter how hard you try. So hear “…the WORD OF THE GOSPEL, and BELIEVE” (IT; Acts 15:7). From the moment you believe the true gospel from your heart, you’ll find that your experience will agree with the WORD of GOD.

Now, let’s go back to Romans 1:16 and read it again. Notice what it says concerning the gospel, “…It is the POWER OF GOD UNTO SALVATION to EVERYONE THAT BELIEVETH …” (IT). It is NOT to those who simply read about it, and/or hear about it, but to those who hear IT, and/or read IT, and THEN BELIEVE IT from the heart (Hebrews 4:1-3). If you never BELIEVE the true gospel of Jesus Christ from your heart, your experience will forever agree with your unbelief, and you will never be free indeed from sin.  So why not believe the true gospel of Jesus Christ TODAY, and be made free indeed from sin (John 8:36).

Thanks so much for visiting!  And whether this is your first visit, or one of many, please take time to browse our site and check out the many gospel messages and other tidbits. Also, we covet your prayers, for us, and the ministry that God will use both to gather in a last day harvest of souls. We do not solicit, nor do we receive any outside financial support for this web site. God has and will continue to meet that need. Gain of any kind is not our motive for being here. We do ask of those who appreciate this ministry, to please, tell others about it. In that, you will be partners with us in this ministry and share with us in the harvest. We especially thank those of you who already support us with your prayers, and for telling others about the “The True Gospel Web Site.”

May God bless you mightily in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Dear Visitor,

Another great Featured Message by Brother Keith Surface titled, “The Stone the Builders Rejected,” Message #4. Brother Keith does a wonderful job of pointing out what the “stone” which the builders rejected, and still reject, really is; and some of the many erroneous doctrines and traditions which are not the “stone,” but have slipped into the church over the centuries since those first generation apostles. If you are interested in knowing some of the more established pitfalls to avoid in your search for truth (and everyone should be), please read this message, also indexed as Message #4 under Keith Surface Messages. (I hope everyone has already read his #2 Message, “Justified by Faith Grace.” If not, be sure to read it as well.) JDG

September - October 2009

Dear Visitor,

This months Featured Message (which is also indexed as Message 28 under Leroy Surface Messages) is titled, “The Secret Place of the Most High.” It was written by Brother Leroy Surface and is an introduction to his soon to be released verse by verse commentary on the Book of Ephesians. I can say in all honesty that the importance of the message of the book of Ephesians to the church of Jesus Christ cannot be over emphasized. I urge you to read this great message (as well as the complete commentary). The book of Ephesians is primarily concerning the subject of glorification of the church which is by “baptism with the Holy Ghost.” I am convinced that a God given understanding of this great gospel epistle, written by the apostle Paul to the Ephesian church, will usher in a last day soul saving revival and outpouring of the Holy Ghost that is so desperately needed by and in the church of Jesus Christ, throughout the entire world. Please read this message and I believe you will tell your brothers and sisters in the Lord as well as all your friends and neighbors about it. If you, as a blood washed, blood bought, born again Christian, hunger and thirst for truth and hope in these last dark days before Jesus returns, you will not be disappointed in reading this message.  We now have “THE FOUNDATION” Commentary by Brother Leroy Surface on this web site. It is a verse by verse commentary on the first eleven chapters of “Book of Romans,” and it is indexed as Message 35 under Leroy Surface Messages. For a better understanding of the book of Romans, which we believe is “the greatest foundational book of the gospel” in the entire Bible, be sure to read this great commentary, carefully and prayerfully. It will change your concept of the gospel which was preached by the apostle Paul and confirmed by other “eye witness” apostles. In the future we can look forward to the remaining chapters of the book of Romans, as well as his commentaries on other New Testament gospel books, by other New Testament writers. His commentary on the book of Ephesians is scheduled to be ready early next year (2011). Be sure to watch for it.

 July 2009

Our “Featured Message” this month is titled “Justified by Faith Grace. It is indexed as Message 2 under Keith Surface Messages.. It was written by Brother Keith Surface and we are so happy to be able to bring this message to you. If you have ever pondered and/or asked anyone what the difference is between the “Old Covenant” and the “New Covenant” you probably came up with as many different answers as people you asked. The reason is that the vast majority of Christians simply do not understand the many important and wonderful differences between the new covenant and the old. Because of this, many are living their lives under an old covenant (“Old Testament”) conception and understanding. Our greatest single source of “…the new covenant…” gospel is the book written by the apostle Paul to the “ROMANS.” The overall theme of this first century book, however, is not always easy to follow. Because of this, as well as many other reasons, much confusion and darkness has been brought into the church over the centuries of time. In most cases, the power of the gospel has been completely destroyed through the teaching and preaching of misconceptions brought about by misunderstanding and/or misinterpretation of these scriptures, some of which were, and are, deliberate. Worldwide, the Church is in desperate need of a real revival before the soon coming of Jesus. I believe that a true understanding, by the church, of the great and powerful truth of “Justification by Grace” which Brother Keith Surface so explicitly lays out from the Word of God, could be the pivotal prerequisite for such a revival. Please read this great informative message and I believe you will be as blessed and excited as I am about the truth revealed therein. Then tell all of your family, friends, neighbors, and acquaintances about it, urging them likewise to read this message and tell their acquaintances about it. Let us do all we can to spread the good news of the great truth of the gospel as set forth in this message.

February, 2009

Greetings to all this second month of the new year. Hope January was a great month for you and yours. It certainly was for us. The Lord has been so good we could never thank Him enough.

Just want to say a few words about our “Featured Message” this month titled “This is the Covenant.” This message was written by Brother and Pastor Leroy Surface, and he does a wonderful job presenting and explaining the true gospel of Jesus. Among many other scriptures, he gives verse by verse comments on Romans 5:12; 6:23. I can honestly say that, “this could be the single most important gospel message you have ever read,” so be sure to read this message. In the meantime, we pray that God will give every reader spiritual understanding concerning the truly, “unsearchable riches of Christ.” Until next month, may God richly bless you is our prayer. JDG

January, 2009

Unbelievably, another year has past and how quickly it went by. If you read last months “Featured Message” you know what I’m referring to (See December, 2008 below). Also, how quickly events happen. Just in the last couple of weeks another military action was begun by Israel. Could this the beginning of the last 3½ year war before Jesus returns? I really don’t think it is, but at this point, no one can be for sure. Whether it is or not, we must all be ready to meet Jesus at all times. Our “Featured Message” for this month explains why we must be saved, and what we must do to be saved. It is only by the putting on of His provision that we can be ready for His coming. I trust you will find this months message to be a blessing. JDG

December, 2008

We’re glad you’ve taken the time to visit today. This is an extremely busy time of year with the holidays and all, it’s so easy to get sidetracked from what is most important in our lives, that being our relationship and fellowship with God. This must be the highest priority for each and every day of our lives.

Another year is almost gone and I’m amazed at how quickly it has passed. In addition to how quickly time passes, I believe that time, before the return of Jesus to this earth, has almost run out. In November we published our latest message, JDG Message 32, titled, “The Appointed Time,” which deals specifically with the time of the return of Jesus to this earth. We have made it our “Featured Message” for the month of December, so if you have not already read it, be sure to read it this month. Also, our “Featured Message” for November was extremely relevant to this subject. If you didn’t get to read it in November, you can still do so. It is Message 16 by guest writer Leroy Surface, titled, “The Beginning of Sorrows;” a message well worth your time to read and heed. To go directly to “The Beginning of Sorrows,” >CLICK HERE<.

With that we’ll end our comments for today, and again, we’re so glad you dropped by. Please visit often and keep us in your prayers. JDG

“Ye Must Be Born Again (John 3:7)

What does “must” mean? Strong’s Concordance says the meaning of the Greek word used here, means “necessary (as binding).” And the American Heritage Dictionary says that “necessary” means “absolutely essential.” This should be plain enough for most of us to understand. But what is it that we “must be”?  We “…must be born again.

When Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews, came to Jesus by night, Jesus said to him (and, to all forever more), “…Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see (perceive; know) the kingdom of God” (John 3:3). According to Strong’s Concordance, the Greek word which was here translated “again,” means “from above; (and/or) by implication, anew.” So Jesus was actually saying, you must be born anew, from above. In other words, we must be born again of God, by the Spirit of God. In John 1:12-13, the apostle says, “But as many as received Him (Jesus), to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name: (Then John lists some things which the truly born again children of God are not born of; so while he mentions those things we are NOT born of, please don’t lose sight of what we ARE born of.) Those, “Which were (and ARE) born, NOT of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but (which were and are born) OF GOD.” Conclusion: In true salvation, there is a true and actual spiritual birth that takes place, by, and only by, the Spirit of God. Being born again is not an option for a child of God, it’s what “makes a person” a child of God. It is an absolute must. We must be born again of God. If not, we are not a child of God at all. This is the reason I am so skeptical about the great crowds of people who are supposed to be saved, and/or getting saved, when the spirit of the entire service is nothing more than a wild, worldly, rock concert. Brothers and sisters, this is not of God. Except a man, woman, boy or girl be born again of God, they “…cannot see the kingdom of God.” They can never see, know, or be a part of that precious, holy, kingdom. I sincerely hope that you are a truly born again child of God. If not, you can be. Simply come to Him in true repentance (Godly sorrow) for your sin and your sins, hear and believe the true gospel of Jesus, the Christ, and summit yourself unto Him and to it. He will save you if you will only believe (Romans 1:16-17).

Thanks so much for visiting. If this is your first visit, please take the time to browse our site and check out the many wonderful gospel messages, as well as other interesting tidbits. Also, please pray for us and this ministry, that God will use both to gather in a last day harvest of souls. In that way you will be a part of this ministry and share with us in the harvest. We especially thank those of you who already support us with your prayers. May God bless you mightily in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Yours in Him,

JDG

New Words

It’s always good to see a new year come around. There is always the hope (expediency) in the Lord that we will see those greater things which we have prayed and yearned for come to pass in the new year. And I am believing and looking forward to greater things this year. Many times however, I have been glad that I didn’t know from the beginning, what the new year, and even the new day would bring. But our faith and trust is always in the Lord and the promise of His Word. And His grace always sees us through the most arduous times and trials.

Just recently I saw on the news that the new annual dictionaries were coming out. They told some of the new words and their definitions which were in these latest editions. Most of the new words were technical jargon words, engendered to communicate the latest technologies. But many words which we use today are not new words at all, only old words with new meanings. Example: When I was a child, the word gay meant merry, cheerful and/or lighthearted excitement. But I’m sure I don’t have to tell anyone the first thing that comes to mind today when you hear this word. The antichrist forces of hell, which are so hard at work in this country and throughout the world, have saturated the media and entertainment industries with the homosexual lifestyle to the point that most people don’t seem to know or care that there is anything wrong with it. I know that I’m not the exception, but I do know that I am part of a small minority today who believe homosexuality is out and out sin, and that people are not born that way.

I suppose what is most disturbing to me is that within those who call themselves the church of Jesus Christ, the antichrist forces of hell are also engendering new words and new meanings. One I have been hearing for some time now is the word “positional.” I don’t know if a technical theological definition for the word can be found anywhere or not, but the little which I have gleaned about it seems to go something like this. I know the Bible says that, but that’s not what it really means. My personal thinking concerning the new definition of “positional” is that it was concocted by theologians, preachers, and other so-called men and/or women of God who cannot believe the Word of God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ, so they invented this definition to make the Word of God fit their unbelief. Please pray that God will send true revival very soon. This is our only hope for the church, and therefore, the lost world, before Jesus comes.

Yours in Christ,

JDG

An open letter to Israel.

Israel, Oh Israel! How long must you suffer? How long will you harden your heart? My heart grieves for you today because of all the things you have suffered, but especially for all those things you will yet suffer until the day that you look unto, and call upon Him, whom you and your fathers have rejected and pierced (Zechariah 12; 13; 14).

The God of your fathers has once more gathered you from among the nations where you were scattered because of your unbelief. Yet for His word sake and for His great name sake, He has once more given you a place among the nations. He has defended you and fought for you. But as yet, even as your fathers before you, you have not harkened, you have not humbled yourselves, you have not called upon Jesus, the Messiah, the Son of the living God. Instead, you have trusted in the god of forces which cannot save you, neither can they deliver you. Even under the old covenant when your fathers would humble themselves and call upon Him, God would always fight the battle for them in the face of impossible odds and circumstances. But even though you are once more compassed about by the enemy on every side, you have not, as a nation, called upon Jesus, the Messiah, in whom is God’s new covenant with both Israel (the Jews) and all other men (the Gentiles; Isaiah 42:6).

The old covenant which you trust in was annulled, and the new covenant which is in the broken body and shed blood of Jesus Christ is now in force. But because of your fathers unbelief and rejection of Him, as a branch, you were broken off of the olive tree and the Gentiles were grafted in (Romans 11). But God stands ready to graft you in again and fight for you as when He fought in the day of battle, when you repent and call upon Jesus, the Christ (the Messiah), and mourn for Him as you would mourn for your first born.

I speak to every person in Israel, to tell you, to urge you, to do all in my power to persuade you to humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, and to mourn for Him whom you and your fathers have rejected. To call upon Jesus, the Messiah and Savior of the Jew, and to those of all nations who will humble themselves and receive Him. Not just for the saving of the nation, but for the saving of your souls. Your hearts long for peace, but there will be no peace until Jesus returns as your Messiah, and His return is in your hands. He will not come again, until you, first as individuals, and then as a nation, call upon and mourn for Him. But sadly, and I speak this by the scriptures of your old covenant prophets, the decimation will continue until you do. Perilous times are upon the whole world, not only upon Israel. But I’m praying especially for you, as well as for individual souls of my own country, and of the whole world, that all will come to a place of repentance and call upon God. I earnestly beseech all truly born again believers to pray with us, for Israel, for America, and for the entire world.

Yours, in the Lord Jesus Christ,

JDG

The Harvest is Great, But the Laborers are Few

As I watch the war that transpires between the Jew and the Muslim, I ask myself, how can there be such animosity between these people. Both claim to be the chosen people of God, yet neither group show any signs of knowing Him. The fact is, they don’t. They both reject the Lord, Jesus, the Christ and the revelation of God which is in Him (John 14:8-9). Therefore, their concept of God is completely and horribly distorted. As with all false religions, their deeply rooted beliefs are far from the truth which is in Jesus. It would seem that the only alternative is to simply write them off as a lost cause. But I ask myself, what would I be, had I have been born and raised in one of those environments? Would I have been any different than they. The answer is “most probably not.” I was just “so blessed” to have been born and raised in a nation with a predominantly, though swiftly vanishing, Christian environment. I was “so blessed” to have had the opportunity to hear the true gospel of Jesus Christ, the only “way,” for me, or any other person on this planet to ever be saved and restored to fellowship with the true and living God. The God which can only be worshiped in spirit and in truth. Yet Jesus suffered and died for every person (every soul) regardless of the environment they were born and raised in. Their only hope, however, of ever being saved is if you and I or someone can get the true gospel of Jesus Christ to them. However, we must not wait for, or count on, someone else to do it. We must each do everything we can to reach those lost souls with the truth of the gospel. For: “now are we, the sons of God…” (I John 3:2), and “Now…we are ambassadors (someone who speaks both of, and) for (Jesus, the) Christ, as though God did (now,) beseech… (them) by us: (as) we pray… (meaning: plead, or, petition them) in Christ’s stead, (to) be…reconciled to God” (II Corinthians 5:20).

If we are ever to win lost souls to and for Jesus, we must, as Jesus commanded, “Go… into all the world, and preach the (true) gospel (of Him) to every creature” (Mark 16:15). Through the advent of the world wide web, you and I literally have the capability of publishing the true gospel of Jesus Christ to all the world. Our enemy, the devil, is certainly using it for all it’s worth to promote his agenda, so why not us? If you and I will earnestly entreat the Father, and then, by faith, do everything we can to publish the true gospel to every person on the planet, I am convinced that He will work with us (Mark 16:20) to give a mighty harvest of souls before Jesus returns. We covet your help and your prayers, both for us, and with us, to that end. Even if you already have a ministry, you can help us. First by praying, and then by telling someone, anyone, everyone, anywhere and everywhere, lost or saved, about this gospel web site which is dedicated solely to the preaching of the true gospel of Jesus. In that way, we will all be “…workers together with Him…” (II Corinthians 6:1) and sharers together of the joy of seeing lost and dying souls having the true gospel of Jesus, the Christ ministered unto and won for Christ. May the great God and Father of the Lord Jesus Christ bless you abundantly as we labor together in the harvest.

Yours in Christ, for souls,

JDG
